Investigation into Maidan crimes will stop if Parliament delays its changes – PGO

The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine (PGO) calls on the Parliament to amend the legislation on the State Bureau of Investigation.

This was stated by Head of the Special Investigations Department at the PGO Serhiy Horbatiuk, the Ukrayinska Pravda (Ukrainian Truth) online newspaper reports.

He noted that the investigation into the crimes against the Maidan activists was going on. A number of suspicions has been already made, some cases have been submitted to court, but not all the performers and organizers are punished yet.

“For this work not to be stopped in an artificial way, I call on the Parliament: three session days are left. The law on the State Bureau of Investigation is not being amended, and if it is not amended, then all the work which is being done and which should be done to establish the truth and to prosecute the perpetrators may be stopped on March 1. I ask you to respond and introduce the necessary changes in the legislation as soon as possible,” Serhiy Horbatiuk said.

As reported, the team of ex-president Viktor Yanukovych planned to stop the Maidan activists in early 2014 at any price, even by murdering them.
