Defendant in the “Hizb ut-Tahrir” case put in disciplinary cell for a letter in Crimean Tatar language

In Simferopol Teymur Abdullayev, defendant in the “Hizb ut-Tahrir” case, is kept in disciplinary cell for a letter written in the Crimean Tatar language.

As reported by Abdullayev’s lawyer Emil Kurbedinov on his Facebook page.

“Today in the court it became known that Teymur Abdullayev was put in disciplinary cell for a letter that he wrote in the Crimean Tatar language!”, – said the lawyer.

According to him, investigative officers found Abdullayev’s letter during the search of his cell. Letter was written in the Crimean Tatar language and was addressed to his family, he wanted to send the letter through the mail. The letter was seized. When Teymur Abdullayev demanded to return his letter, he was put in disciplinary cell, having said that it is forbidden to write letters not in Russia.

Lawyer stated that he regards such actions as a pressure on his client and intends to appeal the actions of the prison administration.

As a reminder, on October 12, FSB officers have conducted searches in the houses of five Muslim families. After the searches five Crimean Tatars were detained. Rustem Ismailov, Uzeyir Abdullayev, Teymur Abdullayev, Emil Dzhemadenov, Eider Salediov, who are accused of involvement in the banned in Russia organization “Hizb ut-Tahrir”.
