Ukraine’s PGO identifies another two Berkut officers involved in shooting Euromaidan activists

The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine has identified another two officers of the Berkut riot police force, involved in shooting Euromaidan activists in Kyiv downtown on February 20, 2014.

This was announced by Roman Psiuk, the prosecutor of the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office, LIGA.net website reports.

Several officers were identified as of February this year when the indictment was signed. To date, we identified another two men. They are not mentioned in the indictment for objective reasons. They have been put on wanted list,” he said, adding these two men were officers of the Berkut force.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, more than 20 former officers of the Berkut force are on wanted list now.

As for killing three law enforcement officers during the confrontations on February 20, 2014, the prosecutor said there were no suspects in this episode.

Different measures are being taken to establish the persons who fired in the direction of the law enforcement officers,” he added.

Earlier, the Prosecutor General’s Office specified that 23 officers of the Berkut force were involved in shootings of Euromaidan activists.

Five former Berkut officers are suspected of killing 48 Euromaidan activists and injuring another 80.
