Consultation “Addressing torture and violations of civil and political rights in Ukraine: How Ukraine implements the recommendations of the United Nations”

On Tuesday, 1 December 2015 at 10:30 at Hotel Rus (Kyiv, Hospitalna str.4) civil society consultation “Addressing torture and violations of civil and political rights in Ukraine: How Ukraine implements the recommendations of the United Nations” will take place.

In July 2013 and November 2014, Ukraine was reviewed at the UN Human Rights Committee and at the Committee against Torture in Geneva. What are the key problems which tortures and civil and political rights’ violations in Ukraine? How the state responds to the UN recommendation?

The event will be opened by introductory remarks of

Vincent Ploton, Centre for Civil and Political Rights (Geneva, Switzerland);

Anna Innocenti, Human Rights House Foundation (Geneva, Switzerland);

Uladzimir Shcherbau, UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine.

Duration of the event – 10:30-12:00.
