Crimean Tatars, who filmed searches of neighbors’ houses, sentenced to several days of arrest

In the annexed Crimea Russian-controlled Bakhchysarai District Court sentenced the Crimean Tatars, who witnessed the searches of Muslims in Bakhchysarai and recorded the actions of the law enforcers, to an administrative arrest of a term from 2 to 7 days.

As reported by Crimean Tatar activist Lutfiye Zudiyeva on her Facebook page.

“Azizov Aziz – sentenced to 7 days of administrative arrest. Abduramanov Mustafa – sentenced to 7 days of administrative arrest. Eskender Memetov – sentenced to 2 days of administrative arrest. Abdurmanov Shevket – fined for 10,000 rubles… Zudiev Remzi – sentenced to 3 days of administrative arrest”, – she wrote.

According to Zudiyeva, the Court’s decision on Seydamet Mustafayev is expected soon. And court hearing on Midat Muzhdabayev is yet to happen.

As a reminder, on the morning of April 13 in Bakhchysarai of the occupied Crimea Russian security forces conducted searches in the houses of Muslims – Riza Muzhdabaev and Seydamet Mustafayev. Witnesses reported the use of force by the law enforcers and hearing shots.

Photographer Seytumer Seytumerov fainted after being hit with batons by the law enforcers, he was taken away by the ambulance.

In addition, six Crimean Tatars, who were present at the scene and filmed and broadcasted the events in the Facebook network, were detained.

Russian law enforcers called these searches and detentions as “planned measures”. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that they intend to appeal to the international community with a request to increase pressure on Russia, because of the frequent searches in the Crimea.
