3.5 million people crossed the demarcation line in Donbas in 2015.

This is stated in the report, prepared by Vostok-SOS initiative.

8,000-10,000 people cross the demarcation line in both directions every day. The number grows up to 10,000-15,000 on the weekend.

Currently, five entry-exit checkpoints, including four automobile and one pedestrian, operate at the demarcation line. All four automobile entry-exit checkpoints are located in Donetsk region. One pedestrian checkpoint is located in Luhansk region. The residents of Luhansk region, who are willing to cross the contact line by car, have to do it through the territory of the neighboring Donetsk region, or even through the Russian Federation,” said Levon Azizyan, the legal expert at Vostok-SOS: liberated cities.

As a reminder, the Headquarters of the Antiterrorist Center at the Security Service of Ukraine approved the temporary order to monitor the movement of persons, vehicles and goods along the demarcation line within Donetsk and Luhansk regions a year ago. The text of the order has changed several times.
