Russian President Vladimir Putin has given the annual press conference, one of the shortest for the last few years, in Moscow.

Almost half thousand Russian and foreign journalists talked to the Russian President no more than for three hours. Geopolitics was the most popular topic. Putin was asked about Ukraine, Syria, Turkey, and the United States.

About exchange of Ukrainian prisoners for Russian intelligence officers

A journalist asked whether Putin was ready to exchange Nadiya Savchenko, Oleg Sentsov, Oleksandr Kolchenko, Gennady Afanasyev, Stanislav Klykh, and other Ukrainian prisoners held in Russia for Russian servicemen Alexander Alexandrov and Yevgeny Yerofeyev, who are being tried in Kyiv now.

You named two people, offered for exchange. Then you read the long list of people, whom you want to exchange them for. The exchange must be of equal value. We and our colleagues should discuss everything, talk, continue what we have always insisted on what is being offered by the President of Ukraine. The people, held on one side and on the other side, should be released.”

About military operation in Syria

Russian President was asked whether Russia had enough resources for the war in Syria.

“We conduct large-scale exercises. It will just suffice to mention Center and East 2015 exercises. Thousands of people are involved, thousands are being deployed from one theater of operation to another. Hundreds of aircraft and so on. We just send a part of these means to conduct the operation in Syria. It’s difficult to imagine better training. We, in principle, can train there long enough without any significant harm to our budget.”

About children with disabilities

A journalist asked whether Russia intended to cancel the ban on the adoption of Russian children by the foreigners.

If you look at the statistics, the foreigners have never sought to adopt the Russian children with disabilities. I see no reason for changing the legislation and lifting the ban on adoption of the Russian children by the foreigners.”

About sanctions against Ukraine

“We are not going to impose any sanctions on Ukraine. We are launching the regime, favorable for our trade.”

About the servicemen in Donbas

We have never said that there are no people who are engaged in the settlement of certain issues of the military field. But this does not mean that there are regular Russian troops there. Feel the difference.”
