Russia refused to extradite 21former “Berkut” officers to Ukraine
Russian law enforcement agencies refused to extradite 21 former “Berkut” officers, who are suspected of shooting 48 Euromaidan activists, to Ukraine.
As reported by the Ukrainian News Agency referring to Serhiy Horbatiuk, Head of the Department of Special Investigations of the General Prosecutor’s Office (GPU).
“We have received all the answers from the Russian side. They denied all requests”, – he said.
According to him, Russia has granted citizenship or so-called shelter to all these persons.
At the same time Horbatiuk said that Russia has not yet provided an answer to a request to extradite Serhiy Kusyuk, former Chief of the Kyiv “Berkut” Special Operations Regiment.
As previously reported, earlier Russia has granted citizenship and political asylum to 15 former “Berkut” officers, who are suspected of shooting Euromaidan activists.
