SBU put journalist Chalenko, who left Ukraine, on wanted list

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has put journalist Oleksandr Chalenko on a wanted list. He is suspected under articles on “infringement of territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine”.

This information was published on the Ministry of Internal Affairs website.

It is noted that the SBU Department in Kharkiv region is looking for the journalist and that from the field of vision of Ukrainian law enforcement officers Chalenko disappeared in January 2016.

According to reports, he lives in Russia since 2014.

Court allowed the journalist’s arrest in order to bring him to the court.

As a reminder, in Ukraine Oleksandr Chalenko has worked as a journalist at the Segodnya (Today) newspaper and at the Obozrevatel (Reviewer) Internet publication.

In June, Ihor Guzhva, Chief Editor of the Strana.ua (Country.ua) publication, was detained in Kyiv on suspicion of extorting bribes. Subsequently, he was released on bail.
