At least 17 searches took place in the Russian-occupied Crimea in February.

Most of them occurred in the houses of the Crimean Tatars, reads the Crimean Human Rights Group’s report on the situation on the peninsula.

As reported, four people (Muslim Aliev, Envir Bakirov, Emir Usein-Kuku, Vadim Siruk) were arrested as a result of those searches while the rest were released till the next interrogation.

The searches were held on suspicion of terrorist activities. The security forces officers looked for weapons, drugs and forbidden literature.

The court ruled that all the detainees should be in custody until April 8.

Human Rights Information Centre earlier reported on searches and detention of four Muslims in Crimea. Later, they said that they had been kept in the inhumane conditions.
