147 judges, who persecuted Automaidan activists, should be imprisoned.

Automaidan lawyer Roman Maselko said this on the air of Hromadske Radio, speaking about progress of investigation into the Automaidan case.

According to him, the judges, in fact, played the key role in the chain of persecution of Automaidan activists. After all, under the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the actions of traffic police could not be declared as serious crimes, while Article 366, drawing up of deliberately false documents, on the basis of which the judges delivered unlawful judgments, is a serious crime that provides for 5-8 years of imprisonment.

There are 147 such judges as far as we know. In particular, infamous judge Tsarevych and judge Kytsiuk,” Maselko said.

He recalled that the High Council of Justice received many complaints about those judges. And now there are 30 decisions on dismissal, though in fact only 8 of them were dismissed.

He explained the dismissal is a separate independent process, which indicates that a person cannot hold the position. And then comes the criminal penalty by means of imprisonment. Currently, only 7 judges are under investigation and their cases are brought to trial. The investigation into some other 300 cases moves slowly.

Maselko believes that apart from objective reasons for delaying the process, there are also some subjective reasons: unwillingness of the law enforcement agencies to prosecute judges, inefficient investigation, permanent return of cases from the court to the prosecutor’s office.
