Tagansky District Court of Moscow, Russia, ruled to take artist-actionist Petr Pavlensky into custody till December 8.

As the “Crimea.Realities” portal reports, he is accused of vandalism, motivated by political or ideological hatred.

Pavlensky said to journalists that, according to the logic of the existing legal system, he should be accused of terrorism as “the Crimean terrorists” Oleg Sentsov and Oleksandr Kolchenko had been accused.

Overnight into November 9, Petr Pavlensky came to the front door of the building of the Federal Security Service (FSB), doused it with gasoline and set fire to the door. In such a way, he protested against the actions of the FSB, which, according to the artist, “commits continuous act of terror and holds power over 146 million people.” The artist was immediately detained and taken to the police.

Pavlensky is known for several actions. For example, in October last year he cut off his earlobe with a knife, sitting naked on the roof of the Serbsky Centre of Psychiatry. It was the protest against the use of psychiatry for political purposes.
