The Congress of Judges appointed judge of the Supreme Court of Ukraine Viktor Kryvenko as the judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
He got 253 votes out of 382 taken ballots. 13 ballots were declared invalid.
According to the Ukrayinska Pravda (Ukrainian Truth) Ukrainian media outlet, Viktor Kryvenko is associated with infamous MP Serhiy Kivalov.
Giving the commentary to the Ukrayiski Novyny (Ukrainian News) Ukrainian media outlet, the newly elected judge ruled out the pressure on him at his new position.
"I have been working in the judicial system for more than 30 years. I have been working in the Supreme Court of Ukraine for over 20 years, including at the senior positions for 19 years. Nobody has ever been exerting pressure on me during this years as I have the opposite reaction to the pressure - I act differently than I am proposed to," he said.
As reported, according to the Transparency International project, Viktor Kryvenko is one of the largest landowners in Ukraine. His family members own 97,850 square meters of land, and he has a land plot of 83,200 square meters.
Kryvenko voted for the decision of the Supreme Court to hold repeated vote in the presidential election in 2004.
In 2005, president Viktor Yushchenko awarded him with the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of the V degree.
