On the night of May 11, unknown persons damaged the building of the Lush Ukraine (Baseina Street, 15, Kyiv), which is a member of the map of LGBT-friendly places and pasted “We are friendly” sticker.

As reported by public organization KyivPride on its Facebook page.

The attackers wrote in big letters: “Ukraine is against perversions! Go way!”.

“We are outraged by this hate crime, which was caused by intolerance towards LGBT people. We believe that such crimes are especially dangerous and tend to increase, since the attackers consider their actions to be morally justified. Unpunished evil continues to grow. If our law enforcement system can not effectively punish and condemn hate crimes, then such and other potential criminals will find it necessary to continue their activities and seek new, more stringent methods of intimidating the LGBT-community”, – said in a statement of the KyivPride.

The organization demands an impartial investigation of the crime and the prosecution of those responsible.

KyivPride has also reported that shop owners prefer to adhere to their principles and will not back away from the participation in the map of LGBT-friendly places.

The organization calls on everyone who respects human rights to show solidarity and join a silent action to support the store, which has suffered because of its friendly attitude towards LGBTI.

To do this: write a support post with @Lush Ukraine tag, or visit the store on the Baseina Street, 15, Kyiv and buy any product in the shop and thus express your support verbally or leave a postcard a postcard with the words of support for     the company.
