On Wednesday in Kyiv, a driver of a minibus refused to provide travel privilege to a dark-skinned boy with a certificate of a child from a large family, claiming that the documents were forged and that the boy does not have Ukrainian citizenship.

As reported by boy’s mother Galina Uzu on her Facebook page.

“Today, the driver of the minibus № 178 tried to prohibit my child from travel privilege with the certificate of a child from a large family on the grounds that, according to driver, my child is not a citizen of Ukraine. Afterwards, there were verbal insults addressed to us and accusations that our documents are fake. “I know the laws”, – the driver shouted, – “privileges are granted only to citizens of Ukraine. The people who gave you these documents will drive you””, – Galina wrote.

She also indicated that the driver bluntly refused to tell his name and name of the transportation company where he works.

In the commentary to the Human Rights Information Centre Galina Uzu said that it was about her 14-year old son Justin.

In all, the woman has 3 sons and all of them have Ukrainian citizenship, the eldest son even has a Ukrainian passport.

Galina also said that she is preparing a statement about the incident, which she wants to address to the transportation company, as well as to the local authorities.
