On June 14, in Kremenchuk correctional colony, the arrived inmates tried to stir up a riot, demolished the maintenance rooms, broke bathroom fixtures, furniture and cut their hands.

As reported by Oleksandr Savenko, Deputy Prosecutor of Poltava region, to the UNIAN information agency after he arrived at the scene.

According to him, today the prosecutors became aware of the emergency situation in the Kremenchuk correctional colony, where the fact of malicious disobedience of the pupils was recorded.

“Nine of them tried to injure themselves and tried to raise a riot… Their actions manifested in verbal skirmish, damage to the property of the colony… The rooms of the maintenance were partially damaged there, the bathroom fixtures and furniture were destroyed. According to pupils, the reason for such behavior was an inappropriate attitude of the institution’s employees: they said it was nitpicking, which offends their honor and dignity”, – said Savenko.

At the same time, he noted that some of the pupils behaved similarly in other colonies before yesterday’s transfer to Kremenchuk.

“These bodily injures are now being studied by doctors… A complex check will be carried out in the colony”, – said the Deputy Regional Prosecutor.
