The Kremlin-controlled Kyiv District Court of Simferopol fined activist Bilyal Adilov, who was accused of using violence and threats against a representative of the authorities, for 10,000 rubles (about 4,000 hryvnias – KR).

As reported by Adilov’s lawyer Edem Semedlyaev in the commentary made to Krym.Realiyi.

“We filed three appeals for the termination of the criminal prosecution of Adilov. The first one about reconciliation of parties of the case, the second in regards to active repentance and the third on the imposition of a judicial fine. After all the proceedings, the court pronounced a conviction and a sentence in the form of 10 thousand rubles fine”, – said Semedlyaev.

The lawyer believes that this is a good result, “because the sanction of this article provides for a fine of up to 300 thousand rubles (about 130 thousand hryvnias – KR) or imprisonment up to five years”.

As a reminder, on March 29, law enforcers in masks have detained Crimean Tatar activist Bilyal Adilov by force at the building of the Supreme Court of Crimea, where Adilov was reading a prayer for the release of the defendants in the “Hizb ut-Tahrir case”.

Later it became known that the activist is in the Russian department of the Russian Investigative Committee in Crimea, he is charged with Article 318 of the Russian Criminal Code – the use of violence or threats against a representative of the authorities.

As reported by lawyer Edem Semedlyaev, representatives of the Investigative Committee have a video where Adilov argues with the special purpose police unit. This was regarded by the occupation authorities as an insult to a police officer.

A criminal case was initiated against Adilov under the Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the investigator petitioned the court to select a preventive measure of a detention. However, according to lawyer Edem Semedlyaev, the court took into account the fact that the crime in which Adilov is suspected belongs to the category of moderate severity and refused to place him under arrest         for the duration of the investigation.

Bilyal Adilov is a Muslim activist who regularly came to the court hearings on the cases of Crimean Tatars, who are accused of terrorism, and read prayers during the detention of the so-called “Mustafayev support group” when his house was searched. Adilov has eight children.
