A group of Crimean Tatar activists and a journalist detained in Crimea

This morning, a Crimean Tatar activist Remzi Bekirov was detained in Simferopol.

As reported by Crimean lawyer Edem Semedlyaev on his Facebook page.

According to the lawyer, Bekirov is accused of allegedly publishing illegal materials in a social network and is charged with Article 20.29 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation – Production and Dissemination of Extremist Materials.

Later, two more Crimean Tatar activists Ruslan and Rieza Izetov and a journalist of the Article20 website Taras Ibragimov, who brought food and other items to detained Bekirov to the Center for Combating Extremism.

Osman Arifm has also entered the “Center E” building with a group of activists, but he was released after some time.

As reported by Arifm in a video post on Facebook.

“We were taken to somewhere in the basement, they were irritated that I constantly consulted with a lawyer, perhaps this was the reason to get rid of me and let me go. The rest are still there”, – said Arifm.

In the afternoon it became known that journalist Taras Ibragimov was released.

“We talked with Taras. He is all right. According to him, members of the “Center E” behaved and talked correctly, activists were not tortured. Three employees for 1.5 hours asked in details about what he is doing and what is he writing about in Crimea. They also said that his coverage of the topic is one-sided and offered to provide a commentary on their part. They promised to monitor his publications. He gave written explanations. Conversation was held without the presence of a lawyer”, – said Tamila.

As a reminder, on March 29, masked law enforcement officers detained Belyal Adilov, a Crimean Tatar activist, near the Kremlin-controlled Supreme Court of Crimea, where Adilov read a prayer for the release of the defendants of the “Hizb ut-Tahrir” case.

Later it became known that the activist is in the Crimean department of the Investigative Committee of Russia, he is accused of violating Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – Use of Violence or Threats Against a Representative of the Authority.
