About UAH 3-5 million are needed to restore the destroyed residential buildings on the demarcation line in Donbas.

This was stated by Chairman of the Donetsk Regional Military and Civil Administration Pavlo Zhebrivsky.

He noted that such towns and villages as Shyrokyne, Pisky, Vodiane, Opytne, and Zhovanka should be not restored, but built “from scratch.”

He noted that the Administration planned to restore 20 houses in Marinka this year despite fighting but that also required significant financial resources.

According to my calculations, we will need from 3 to 5 billion hryvnias to rebuild the demarcation line,” Zhebrivsky said.

He noted that Donetsk region did not have such financial resources.

As the law on ATO stipulates, the residential buildings shall be restored at the expense of the state budget at the expense of compensation paid by the aggressor state,” Zhebrivsky said.

So we will demand that Russia should compensate for what it has done here in Ukraine. We cannot speak now of any projects on restoration of villages and towns, and there are no such projects yet,” he said.
