The Odesa Pride 2015 action organizers refused to hold the parade on August 15. Instead, they will hold a series of private human rights events, BBC Ukraine reports.

As one of the Pride organizers, Alina Rakhuba, said, the representatives of the LGBT community have met with the city authorities in Odesa today. The activists have given up the idea of holding pride parade after the court banned it, however they will hold a series of human rights events on August 14-16.

The schedule of non-public events will be published at the community website on Friday night.

The organizers note they experience problems with renting locations to hold meetings, as well as places of residence.

As a reminder, August 13, the Odesa District Administrative Court banned the LGBT activists from holding the march of equality. According to the court, the march “may create a real danger and threat to public order in the city”, as well as to health and life of the participants and other citizens.

The danger of holding the march is inter alia associated with the mass arrival of soccer fans in Odesa to attend the match between FC Shakhtar and FC Dnipro on August 14, and the match between FC Chornomorets and FC Zaria on August 16.
